COVID-19 UPDATE-2 (17/02/21): Remote Learning

Dear Hume Central Families,

Based on information provided at the Premiers press conference this morning, I can confirm that we will resume onsite learning for students at all year levels as of tomorrow.

We anticipate that further guidance that may affect our operations will be issued to schools within the next 24 hours. Campus Principals will communicate any specific changes to you as soon as possible. For now though, we understand that face masks will still be required indoors, and outdoors where physical distancing cannot be maintained, so all students must bring a face mask to school tomorrow and wear it whilst at school.

As always, we ask that anyone who is unwell remain at home, and that all families continue to be alert to information from DHHS about exposure sites and requirements for quarantine.

Parent Teacher Student Conferences Tuesday February 23

Due to new rules relating to public gatherings, the Parent Teacher Student Conferences will now occur online via Zoom / over the phone only.

Bookings are essential and must be made on Compass. Guidelines have been provided to families in the mail.

These conferences play an important part in your childs education. We have previously had approximately 90% of families participate in these discussions that are intended to provide you with an opportunity to:

  • meet and get to know your childs teachers;
  • learn more about your childs academic, emotional and social development;
  • help your childs teachers understand more about your child;
  • make plans with teachers about how you can all support your child.

Online conferences with teachers via ZOOM/phone
2.30pm – 3.15pm TEACHER BREAK no interviews available
3.30pm – 7.00pmOnline conferences with teachers via ZOOM/phone

There will be no classes on this day, however, students are required to attend the Parent/Teacher/StudentConferences with you.
Students who do not attend theconferences will be marked absent on the day.

All families who book interviews will be emailed Zoom links for each teacher on Monday February 22. This email will also be sent to student email accounts. If you have any questions relating to the Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences, please contact reception at the relevant campus.
