Year 12 Biology excursion
On Friday, 24 July, the Year 12 VCE Biology students attended an excursion to the School of BioSciences at the University of Melbourne’s Parkville campus. Working alongside students from several other schools, they participated in a university laboratory workshop, completing practical investigations in a tertiary education setting to support their VCE Biology studies.
During the workshop, students explored evolutionary change through fruit fly investigations and examined concepts relating to the immune system. The hands-on experience provided valuable insight into biological research and university-level laboratory practices. Students found the excursion both engaging and educational, gaining a deeper understanding of key concepts from their VCE Biology course.
