Active Adventure Bike Education Course
The Blair Street Campus Active Adventure elective is excited to launch its first-ever 6-week Bike Education Course, designed to build students’ confidence, independence, safety awareness and practical riding skills. Throughout the program, students will develop both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience while learning how to safely and responsibly ride and maintain a bike in a variety of settings.
The course will begin with an introductory bike maintenance session where students will learn essential bike care skills including how to change a bike chain, correctly pump and check tyre pressure, adjust bike seats for comfort and safety, and understand how to use and change gears effectively. As the program progresses, students will build on these foundations by learning important road and trail riding skills such as correct hand signals, safe bike riding techniques, awareness of surroundings, communication while riding, and group riding etiquette. The course aims to promote resilience, responsibility, teamwork and active participation while encouraging students to engage in lifelong physical activity through cycling.
