Hume Central hosted our annual Athletics Carnival at Keilor Park Athletics Track last Friday 27th May. Students were able to compete in a variety of track and field events and cheer for their respective House mates dressed in their House colours.
The Hume Central Secondary College House System provides all members of our community the opportunity to feel a greater sense of connectedness and belonging at school. Through our various House System activities, students have the opportunity to compete, engage and grow.
The Hume Central House names come from the Woi Wurrung language, and represent ideals that are key to success at school:
Balit: ‘to be strong’
Dhumbali: ‘ to be committed’
Noogal: ‘to belong’
Tamboonaman: ‘to support’
At our Athletics Carnival, students participated in Running Events & Relay, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, Discus and Javelin.
We congratulate all those who attended, cheered and the participated with a round of applause going to Tamboonamon House in 1st place, Noogal in 2nd, Balit in 3rd and Dhumbali in 4th place.
