A strong partnership between school and family is key to enhancing student learning and keeping students engaged in school through good attendance and respectful behavior. At Hume Central Secondary College, we are committed to building strong connections with all families to ensure we are working together to support our students. Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences are a vital part of this collaborative relationship.

Please note the format for parent/teacher/conferences outlined below with interviews occurring via a combination of in-person and via the phone.  

DATE: Tuesday March 10th 2026

Time, Location

Session 1

10.00am – 3.00pm, In-person interviews – onsite , Interpreters available

Session 2

4.30pm – 6.00pm, Interviews over the phone, No interpreters available

N.B.  12.00 pm – 12.40 pm – TEACHER BREAK – no interviews available 

All interviews will be approximately 5 minutes in duration and will be allocated at 10 minute intervals.

APPOINTMENTS: 

• The COMPASS Portal will be open to allow parents/carers to make appointments from Wednesday February 25th at 9am until Tuesday March 10th at 9am.
• Instructions outlining how to book appointments on Compass are attached to this message.
• Parents/carers who would like support to make appointments can contact reception on their campus.
• Students can request class teachers make an appointment on behalf of parents
• Families requiring an interpreter can also make this request as part of the booking process on Compass.
• Current Progress Reports will be available for all students on Compass from Monday 2nd of March. It is recommended that families access current progress reports via the COMPASS APP and discuss these reports with their children prior to attending the interviews.

PLEASE NOTE PARENTS/CARERS WITH SCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS WILL BE PRIORITISED, PLEASE BOOK VIA COMPASS FOR GUARANTEED TIME WITH TEACHERS.

 There will be no classes on Tuesday March 10. Students are required to attend the Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences with their parent/carer.  Students who do not attend will be marked absent on the day.
