This term, students from our Hume Flexible Setting have started their Work Placement Unit where they are undertaking the Morrisby profiles and preparing for future employment. As part of the unit, students have visited Brotherhood St Laurence and will attend another 2 sessions.
The workshops entail meeting the youth transition coaches, team bonding, a visit to Kangan Next Steps program, an industry visit, youth rights at work, resumes and applications, and job interview preparation. Students are talking more about part-time work as they turn 15 and they conducted themselves very well at BSL, sharing their stories with the coaches and each other.
