Mural Dimboola Rd

The mural Past and Present is now complete for 2026. On Saturday 25/5/2026, Christian applied an anti-graffiti and weather-resistant varnish that will protect the mural for the next 30 years. Next year, we will continue our project by painting the Year 7 external wall, using “Future” from the Welcoming to Country Statement as our theme.

I would like to thank our students, staff, principals, and Christian Vine for all their hard work and dedication. The mural looks spectacular! Artist, Christian Vine’s exceptional skill and craftsmanship are truly remarkable, and his professionalism in working alongside our students, who embraced their learning through art was an inspiration to us all. Our students have gained so much from this experience, enjoying an art form that extends beyond the classroom and into our broader community of Hume.

Together, the two murals bring a wonderful sense of calm to our school grounds. Among the many kind words shared by teachers and students, a common observation has been that the mural’s colours shift beautifully throughout the day. The hues transforming and deepening with the changing sunlight.

The mural is, in every sense, a meaningful art space that enriches our school community on so many levels. And this is only the beginning.
