NAIDOC Week Celebration

As part of our school’s commitment to supporting students holistically, we are organised a special excursion in recognition of NAIDOC Week for our First Nations students, to honour and celebrate the cultures, histories and identities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and to acknowledge the strength and richness of the cultures represented within our own school community.

As NAIDOC Week traditionally falls during the school holidays, this excursion took  place yesterday so students have the opportunity to participate in these important celebrations within the school setting.

The students attended the Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre at Melbourne Museum, where they participated in a guided tour of the First People’s Exhibition.

The excursion provided an enriching and affirming experience for students during this nationally significant time of celebration, reflection and recognition of First Nations peoples and their cultures.
