NMR Badminton Seniors and Intermediate

On Thursday 31st July, HCSC entered three teams into the NMR Badminton finals, held at Darebin Sports Centre in Reservoir.

The Intermediate Boys competed extremely well throughout the day, eventually finishing 3rd in their pool of 4 teams, with a win over University High and losses to Mernda Hills and Viewbank College.

The Senior Boys battled hard against tough opposition, unfortunately losing to each school as they finished 4th in their pool.

The Senior Girls however, fared better, convincingly winning their matches against Viewbank and Mernda Hills, before narrowly missing out on reaching the final, after losing to Melbourne Girls College in a tight contest. Considering this team was made up of three year 10s and one year 11, the girls were very proud of their efforts.

All players were impressed with the standard of play, with many winning multiple sets across the competition.

This group has trained weekly throughout the year on Monday’s afterschool at the Dimboola Road campus. It has been wonderful to witness the growth in ability of all players in the sport of Badminton. We look forward to further success in these competitions.
