One Love Program

Last week our Year 7 students had the opportunity to engage in a program run by One Love Australia in partnership with Melbourne Victory involving sport games and anti-racism classroom discussions. Our students also had the privilege to hear from a guest athlete, former Matildas soccer player Lydia Williams at the Blair Street Campus and former professional soccer player Marco Rojas at the Dimboola Road Campus.

Both Lydia and Marco shared their journey to professional soccer including the challenges and triumphs. Both athletes spoke with Year 7 students about the importance of respect on and off the sporting field and how we can be inclusive towards others.

This program aligns with our school’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity to ensure we are teaching our students about respect so everyone in our school community feels valued and safe.
