One Love

At the end of Term 1, Year 7 students had the opportunity engage in a program run by One Love Australia, that aims to provide young people with empowering education around racism and its impact. Through interactive activities involving classroom discussions and sports games, students discussed empathy, fairness and respect.

Blair Street students also had the privilege to hear from Matildas soccer player, Lydia Williams who shared her story about the challenges and triumphs playing for Australia whilst also discussing her values around respect, inclusivity and diversity. The school was honoured to receive Lydia’s Olympic soccer jersey that will be showcased in the office.

This event aligns with our school’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity to ensure we are teaching our students about respect so everyone in our school community feels valued and safe.
