Robbie Kearns Shield Competition
Congratulations to the year 7 and 8 students who competed in the Robbie Kearns Shield rugby 9’s opt-in school competition yesterday. The day was filled with excitement and great sportsmanship, as our boys showed their skills on the field.
The team started the day off with a win against Sunbury, which set the tone for the rest of the competition. They then went on to play a strong Tarneit side and came away with another win. In their last game, they played Kurunjang and showed great sportsmanship by offering them extra players due to injuries. Although they lost by only one try, it was a great effort and showcased their selflessness and teamwork.
With two wins and a loss, the team finished 3rd overall in the competition and made it to the finals. They played Tarneit again, who brought on their strongest players for the final. Despite the tough competition, our boys held their own and fought till the end, only losing by two tries.
Overall, it was an amazing effort by our students, and they should be proud of themselves. The day was filled with great sportsmanship, teamwork, and skills that will no doubt serve them well in future competitions. Congratulations again to the team!
