VET Community Services
On Wednesday 20 May, Ms Quigley and Mr Horvath took a group of VET Community Services students to the ‘Who Cares? Caring and Support Job Expo’ hosted by Kangan Institute. Students were amazed during their tour of the 18-month-old facility at the amount of technology being used in the simulation rooms — including human-sized mannequins that can even scream in pain or vomit!
During the expo, students engaged with both TAFE and university staff to learn about study options within nursing, support and care occupations. They also spoke to employers about the kinds of jobs they could apply for when they finish their VET Community Services studies or following further training.
All of the students came away from the expo inspired and energised about where their VET studies could take them, with some even making slight adjustments to their career plans.
