Work Inspiration Program

The Work Inspiration program that took place this week in partnership with AECOM, which was a resounding success.

On the first day, students enjoyed a tour of the AECOM office, where they learned about the various sectors the global company operates in, including Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Operations, and Management. They engaged in self-discovery through a personality quiz and workbook activities. Additionally, students received valuable insights on resume writing, job applications, and interview tips from the head of AECOM’s HR and Recruitment Department.

The second day featured more interactive activities, including a friendly competition to build the tallest structure using dried spaghetti, marshmallows, and tape. Students also had the chance to hear from professionals involved in the design, construction, and management of major highways in Melbourne, particularly focusing on the new Metro train tunnels in the heart of the CBD. The day concluded with students forming groups to interview AECOM staff from various departments, allowing them to learn about the diverse career paths, educational backgrounds, challenges faced, cultural histories, salaries, and work-life balance in the corporate sector. Lastly, students completed our program surveys and received participation certificates from TSF and AECOM.
