Year 10 Outdoor and Environmental Education Excursion

In Week 4, 24 Year 10 Outdoor and Environmental Education students took part in their first experiential learning excursion to Melbourne Cable Park. Blessed with perfect weather, students challenged themselves on the High Ropes Course and enjoyed the Aqua Water Park.

The day focused on understanding risk in adventure activities and how these experiences can be conducted safely. Students began with a detailed safety briefing, learning how to correctly fit harnesses and navigate the high ropes obstacles responsibly. Many pushed beyond their comfort zones, with several reaching the highest level of the tower — and even those who were initially hesitant gave it their all.

After lunch, students tackled the Aqua Water Park, where they received further safety instruction on water procedures and correct use of PFDs. The afternoon was filled with energy, teamwork, and plenty of fun as students raced through obstacles, bounced off inflatables, and embraced every challenge.

An outstanding effort from all students — a fantastic start to their Outdoor Education journey!
