Year 8 Volleyball Division Competition
On Monday 2nd March, a keen group of Year 8 students competed in the Woodlands Division Volleyball competition.
Our teams were very well prepared, having completed a significant volume of training prior. The level of expectation was high. The girls team won their first three matches comfortably, before facing stiff competition from Roxburgh Park. The match went to a deciding set and extended points, with both schools saving match points. Our girls pulled off a stirring victory and went through the day undefeated, winning through to NMR in Term 4.
The boys team, having won the comp last year, won their first two matches, before facing Sirius College. The match went to a deciding set, with Sirius winning the match in a tense encounter. Luckily for the boys team, Sirius surprisingly lost their next match to Gladstone Park in three sets, resulting in a three way tie, after we won our last match comfortably, with the Hume Central team winning through on a count back. Both teams were relieved and satisfied that results went their way. A long wait now before the term 4 NMR competition, which will no doubt be a much stronger standard of competition to go up against.
