Shine of Remembrance

This term Year 9 students attended the Shine of Remembrance. Here students explored real historical artefacts to investigate how an entire generation had their lives shaped forever by Australia’s participation in the First World War.

Students visited the memorial and the galleries, where they engaged in discussions about the choices and decisions different kinds of people made in the years 1914 to 1918. These discussions supported students to make connections from the real life exhibits to the World War I History unit they are currently studying in their Humanities class.

Overall a very insightful, engaging experience.
