On Friday 26th of August, staff wore purple to demonstrate their support for LGBTQIA+ young people and show that all students are wanted and welcome at our school no matter their sexuality or gender.

Different activities happened at each campus on Friday, that were highly enjoyed by the students.

The activities across the College included:

  • Nail panting and henna
  • Supportive message boards
  • Music performances
  • Muffin, lolly bags and fairy bread stalls with students donating to a charity that supports LGBTIQA+ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.

Hume Central is committed to ensuring that our school is a safe and supportive environment for all students and staff. Wear It Purple Day was one of the many days we organise throughout the year to foster this sense of belonging and connection to the school community.
