This term our Hume Flexible Setting students, have been working hard measuring and building planter boxes made from Cyprus timber in Design Technology. We have been planning on building the planter boxes for over 6 months, however Covid delayed project in 2021. This year has been a success with starting this project and we’re now in the finishing stages. Design Tech classes have been engaging and students have worked efficiently with Evan Houghton. Students have learnt how to drill screws into wood, measure accurately using a tri-square and ruler, using a belt sander and have also learnt how to use a clamp to hold wood still. It is currently week 9 and the HFS team have almost finished. By Term 2, we our aim is to plant some vegetables and begin our garden.
